The Lord is my Life
by Erik Momsen
What is my life? Why am I living? What am I living for? Where will my life lead? These are very human questions and potentially very fearful and depressing. Very often we feel very alone in these questions and very fearful that the answers will be hopeless.
Life is made up of work, sleep, eating, cleaning, some entertainment and a little friendship perhaps.
I have been very blessed, for as long as I can remember the Lord has debated these question with me in my mind. I have not been alone when I have asked these question. I can only imagine the horror of being all alone when faced with the meaning of life.
I pray that we all very soon get to the place where we know that trying to live and answer the question of life alone and without God is a fearful pursuit. He Is Our Life.
THE LORD IS MY LIFE
“Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. ... 14 No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it. 15 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. 16 For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. 17 But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them, 18 I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess. 19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20 and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. (Deuteronomy 20:11-19)
Don't believe the lie that God is far off or uninterested or that faith is difficult – The Holy Spirit is closer than your breath.
The word is in mouth & heart !!! Our effective beliefs are on our tongues. We continually say what will be. “I am bored – I am lonely – I'm depressed” Our fickle emotions spark words that create realities.
If there is a God – who created – 100 million stars in 100 million galaxies AND this God says that He created by His word alone AND He tells us our words also bring about life THEN I WILL TALK LIFE.
A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; he shall be satisfied with the product of his lips. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it shall eat the fruit of it.
The Holy Spirit is constantly trying to create life in you but you will not speak this life. We somehow think it is a cool to be negative or that God talk is embarrassing. Satan is robbing you of victory & life. I hardly want to pray in silence any more because I feel the power of vocal prayer. The words of God spoken though your mouth will change your world and spread even further.
God sets before each of us a choice to live or die. The world is already in the grips of death !!!
Choose to LIVE.
Love the Lord your God
Listen to his voice
Hold fast to him
For the Lord is your life (THERE IS NO LIFE WITHOUT GOD)
And he will give you many years (GOD IS SO EAGER TO BLESS)
“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)
