Mano a Mano

Adam & Eve didn't stand together so satan tricked them out of paradise.
Cain and Abel's parents let satan in, so one killed the other.
Cain's great, great, great grandson Lamech was also a murderer.
Noah gets drunk and curses one of his sons for disloyalty.
Babel's inhabitants reject God and fall into complete disunity.
Joseph's brothers were envious of his father's attention so they sold him.
The history of human relationships is tragic. We will find or invent a reason to destroy each other. Since the children are at war with the Father they cannot but be at war with each other.
WE RUB SHOULDERS WITH PEOPLE DAILY - BUT HOW?
A large part of the New Testament is dedicated to encouragement to good loving relationships. I also know that so much of the pain we experience is down to the way we treat each other on a daily basis. So much pain and dysfunction is caused not by accident or even by the gods - as some ignorants think - but by person to person damage.
I see so many people who are really constantly miserable. Their faces display a picture of distrust and distaste of the world around them. This cannot be the mind of the follower of Jesus. Our greatest gift is Love and that of Love for the world (John 3:16).
I know we are called to put upon our faces the smile, love and approval of God. What else but the love, forgiveness, mercy and grace of God reflected from our faces, will remind them that there is a God in heaven who cares?
RECONCILED TO GOD THEN MAN
Paul reminds the Ephesians all of humanity was brought back to God and into unity with each other and Israel through one man, one death, one blood, Jesus.
" ... at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who were once afar off are made near by the blood of Christ. For He is our peace, He making us both one, and He has broken down the middle wall of partition between us, having abolished in His flesh the enmity (the Law of commandments contained in ordinances) so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, making peace between them; and so that He might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity in Himself. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off, and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
Now therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God, and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom every building having been fitly framed together, grows into a holy sanctuary in the Lord; in whom you also are built together for a dwelling place of God through the Spirit." (Ephesians 2:12-22)
- All of us at one time without God and without hope.
- Jesus made peace between God and man and hence between all men.
- Through his blood all humanity has access to the Father by One Spirit.
- Christ is the cornerstone of the new household of God.
- Christ the cornerstone and us the bricks.
- Built together and indwelled by the Spirit of God.
With Christ and only with Him can greater degrees of unity, peace and blessing come. Place Him as head of the Body, your family, your business, town or nation and God will start a processes of reconciliation.
South Africa needs you as believer to forgive and show the love, mercy and grace that only Jesus could perfectly demonstrate. Believers, if you want a mission there is no other that compares to ushering in this reconciliation that Jesus began.
